1. Wash your wellies with a cloth and warm soapy water.
2. Leave them to dry naturally and stuff them with newspaper to help them dry quicker.

   Avoid leaving your wellies on a radiator to dry.
3. Simply wipe away any white powdery residue on your welly with a damp cloth.

   This is a perfectly natural process called “blooming” in which the natural oils in the rubber work their way to the surface.
4. Remove the insoles of your wellies and wash them separately.

   Ideal for when those puddles are deeper than expected!

1. Store your wellies in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

   Better still, keep them tucked away in one of our stylish welly bags.
2. If your wellies are zipped, avoid storing them with the zip open or clogged with mud.
3. Try to stop your long wellies from folding over.

1. Follow our cleaning and storage tips to get the very best out of your boots for longer.
2. Use a boot remover to take off your wellies. Avoid using steps or other tools as these can cause damage.
3. Keep wellies supple and prolong their life with our Buffer Up Welly Spray designed to restore shine and keep rubber good as new.

Green roofs are great for smartening up dull and boring arches, arbours, sheds or even a dog kennel!

Alpines are ideal for this as they do not need a huge amount of nutrients and most are fairly drought tolerant.  In addition, Alpines do not need huge depths of soil so are perfect for your green roof.

To produce our green roof we constructed an extra frame around the existing roof about 3” deep to keep the growing media in place. We then lined the bottom of the frame with thin plywood and drilled several holes for drainage before attaching to the existing arbour roof.

We laid a thin layer of horticultural sand in the bottom followed by John Innes No. 2 compost.

We then planted up with a mixture of different Alpine leaf and flowers, textures and colours.

We finished it off with a layer of decorative alpine aggregate and watered in well.

After care:

Water only occasionally and deadhead any flowers which have gone over (if needed). In general, green roofs are fairly low maintenance.

The following alpine plants are particularly drought tolerant:-

Arabis, Delosperma, Thyme, Sedums, Sempervivens, Sisyrinchium, Silene, Lewisia.

From a hobby breeder as a young teenager David Austin has gone on to breed a collection of roses renowned across the world.

All David Austin roses have a collective style and reflect one man’s vision. All have beautiful blooms and in most cases wonderful fragrance held on graceful attractive shrubs. A garden of these outstanding roses is hard to beat for sheer exuberance of flower and fragrance.

Today, David Austin Roses remains a family business. David Austin has been joined by his son David and his grandson, Richard.
